Opening C\Prof Web UI

To get started with C\Prof Web UI, you will first need to log on using a web browser.

Logging on

To log on, complete the following steps:

  1. Open a web browser.

    Tip: Use Google Chrome for best results. The C\Prof Web UI makes use of Web Components which are natively supported in Chrome. Other browsers may lead to suboptimal performance. For the most up to date information on Web Components support in major web browsers, see Browser Support overview.

  2. In the browser's address bar, enter the URL for C\Prof Web UI as follows:

    protocol://hostname:port/cprof-web/ui

    where:

    protocol

    Either http or https.

    Note: For https connections, install the digital certificate before proceeding. For more information, see Importing a digital certificate.

    hostname

    The name or IP address of your mainframe.

    port

    The TCP/IP port number of the C\Prof Web UI server. To find your port number, see Web UI application server configuration.

  3. On the Log In panel, enter the following information:

    Username

    The username you use to logon to the mainframe.

    Password

    Your password.

    Keep me logged in

    Select the Keep me logged in checkbox to stay logged into the C\Prof Web UI between browser sessions.

  4. Click LOG IN.

    If you have been successful, the Regions overview home screen is displayed. Bookmark this page in your web browser for future reference.

    Note: If you are using https, be sure to look for the padlock symbol in the browser's address bar.

    Whilst navigating C\Prof Web UI, you can return to the Regions overview screen at any time by clicking the home button (Return to Region overview).

    From Regions overview you can perform the following actions:

Logging off

When you have finished your analysis, click the log off button (Log off) to end your session.

Importing a digital certificate (HTTPS connections)

If you are connecting to the C\Prof Web UI over HTTPS, you will need import the server's digital certificate. For more information on generating digital certificates, see Generating a keyring and certificate for secure connections

For Chrome users, use the following guide when importing certificates:

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. From the Chrome dropdown menu (top right corner), select Settings.
  3. At the bottom of the page, click Advanced.
  4. In the Privacy and Security section, click Manage Certificates.
  5. Select the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab.
  6. Click Import.
  7. Click Next.​
  8. Click Browse and locate your certificate file.
  9. Click Next, reviewing the options until you reach the end of the wizard.
  10. Click Finish.

The installed certificate can be found on the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab.
