Milestone month. We have now passed the one-year mark of the first global pandemic of our lifetime. Countless people across the globe have been infected with –and too many have died from– the novel coronavirus knownn as COVID-19. We have been tested – medically, physically, mentally, and emotionally. We have quarantined. We have been isolated. We miss our family and friends and neighbors and colleagues. Our favorite restaurants and local shops have closed – some temporarily, some permanently. Life as we knew it has changed. What was normal isn’t normal anymore.
But there is hope. Millions of people have recently been vaccinated. And, although there are millions of people (like me) still waiting their proper turn, the number of daily vaccinations continues to increase and the number of COVID-positive cases continues to decrease. One year in, the light is starting to shine. It’s been a long, cold, lonely winter, but here comes the sun, and it’s all right. I hope you are able to let a little bit of that sunshine in on you and your family.
And speaking of family, I am happy to announce that we added a new member to our Rocket family last month. Please join me in welcoming Uniface (as our 54th acquisition) to our family table. Uniface is well-known for their low-code, quick-time-to-value application development platform. Hundreds of companies –both big and small– across a wide variety of industries and geographies rely on the mission-critical applications developed and powered by Uniface.
Onward and Upward,

Here Comes the Sun (The Beatles)
Thank you to George Harrison for writing such a beautiful song. This was one of the first songs I learned when I started playing the guiatar. It is still one of my favorites to play, both on guitar and on piano.

Aquarius, Let the Sunshine In
Another musical reference, this one from the musical HAIR.

Family Table (Zac Brown Band)
This song is from the band's Welcome Home album. The lyrics invite the listener to, "Call your friends 'cause we got room for everyone — let's make some memories 'round this nine foot pine, pull up a chair and stay a while."

Say Something (Berklee College of Music, Berklee Virtual Orchestra)
Arranged by Riccardo Niar Belletti and Ella-Jane Sharpe, verse by Tristan Simone and Justin Timberlake, this song is about longing and gives hopefulness to the listener with a hook that says, "anywhere, I would have followed you, say something."
