Rocket is always looking for its next generation Rocketeers and Year Up provides a new channel for deserving professionals. The Boston-based organization helps young adults move from minimum wage to meaningful careers in just one year. Year Up was founded to bridge what they call the “opportunity gap.” Millions of young adults in the US have talent and motivation but lack opportunity. At the same time, companies have opportunities available but lack the talent they need to succeed.
After six months of intense professional and technical training, Year Up places its students with a partner company where Year Up participants work for another six months as interns. It’s a year-long professional boot camp that provides students with the array of skills they need to succeed in any corporate environment – from professional demeanor to assembling a computer to analyzing data.
