Rocket Software Enhances LegaSuite to Support IBM® CICS® TS 4.2

Newton, Mass., April 12, 2011—Rocket Software (www.rocketsoftware.com) today announced support for IBM’s new release of CICS Transaction Server for z/OS® (CICS TS V4.2) when it becomes generally available.

Rocket’s LegaSuite SOA integration and application modernization software now offers CICS TS 4.2 customers new features to rapidly leverage CICS applications to participate in enterprise initiatives for SOA integration, business process improvement, real-time event processing and web and portal clients.

Among the new features of LegaSuite is a unique Java-based CICS service flow runtime engine that offloads SOA processing to an IBM System z Application Assist Processor (zAAP). This new Java-based runtime engine in CICS leverages the latest multithreaded 64-bit JVM server in CICS TS 4.2 and can bring significant savings for SOA deployments and reduce the cost of ownership of an SOA infrastructure. By leveraging the new CICS events functionality in combination with LegaSuite’s business intelligence module, CICS TS 4.2 customers can identify significant business and system events and act upon those events in a timely fashion.
