Rocket Software

January 16, 2024

This month, Rocket Software will be in Barcelona, Spain, to attend and speak at the IBM TechXchange Summit EMEA, which is centered on innovating in the age of AI. We couldn’t be more excited to be in Barcelona for another great conference with IBM.

This year’s special limited event is designed for developers, builders, and user groups who use IBM products and hybrid cloud solutions to explore the impact generative AI will have on enterprise technologists. The summit will have breakout sessions, hands-on experiences, product demonstrations, instructor-led labs, and certifications tailored to different interests and learning styles.

Rocket Software is proud to be part of the IBM community and will be speaking at the conference, joining the world’s leading technology visionaries, and leading sessions for thousands of those who work in IT. Our sessions include:

  • Opening the Mainframe: Provide Monitoring Data to DevOps Applications Teams (Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 2:45 p.m. CET in room 134): DevOps is becoming more and more a demand in hybrid applications. For Bankdata, it is essential to provide DevOps metrics from the mainframe components to the apps team. In this session, Rocket Software’s Patric Becker, senior director solutions advisor system Z EMEA, and Bankdata’s Frank Peterson, systems architect, will walk through how Bankdata implemented DevOps for mainframes using the OMEGAMON Data Provider and how it integrated CICS and Db2 metrics into a Grafana/Prometheus setup. The session will provide advice and considerations enabling a DevOps world in a hybrid application environment but from a mainframe perspective.
  • How OMEGAMON Db2 PE on z/OS Supports Db2 13 and What's New since GA (Thursday, Jan. 25, at 11:45 a.m. CET in room 132): With new features in Db2 12 and Db2 13, many organizations are looking for new ways to measure performance and improve the usage of Db2 for z/OS. In this session, Christoph Theisen, Rocket Software’s principal solutions advisor, will cover the latest Db2 trace metrics and techniques, teaching how to best compare Db2 and application performance before and after the upgrade.
  • Performance Monitoring: Experience in Customer Situations - Best Practices (Thursday, Jan. 25, at 1:45 p.m. CET in room 130): Db2 Performance tools can be difficult to monitor, especially for companies who have questions that are hard to answer. Join Rocket Software’s OMEGAMON DB2 consultant, Norbert Jenninger, as he discusses common pain points, different monitoring strategies, and best practices and tools to help customers using Db2.

We’re looking forward to meeting with our IBM community to continue building our deep technical expertise, together. If you’re interested in meeting with a Rocket Software expert onsite to learn how to modernize without disruption, reach out here.
