For Rocket Software to better serve our customers, we must invest in our greatest asset – our employees. It’s important that every Rocketeer feels encouraged to show up as their whole self. This means we must prioritize amplifying diverse voices across the organization to reflect our core values of empathy, humanity, trust, and love.

One way we do that is through our Aurora Program, a development course designed to help our female leaders unlock their full potential.  We launched the Aurora Program as a Rocket Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (RIDE) initiative in 2020 in partnership with reacHIRE as part of our commitment to creating an environment where all Rocketeers feel empowered to succeed.

“It is so exciting to have this partnership with Rocket Software. Their leadership has truly prioritized investing in each of you, and today, we should celebrate that. What a journey and what an accomplishment” - Addie Swartz, CEO of reacHIRE.

To Aurora and Beyond

The Aurora program is tailored to fit the needs of our women leaders as they build and strengthen their careers and hone their leadership styles and practices. Rocket Software’s Aurora Program has helped foster a network of women empowered to take control of their careers and inspire others along the way.

As a 2023 Aurora graduate myself, I’m grateful for the opportunity to invest in myself and pay it forward—taking the valuable insights learned from the program and sharing them with the next leaders at Rocket Software and beyond.

Three Takeaways from My Aurora Experience

In honor of the 33 graduates, here are my top three takeaways from the Aurora Program and its greater impact on Rocket Software.

  1. Use your voice. For your manager to best support you, they need to know what is important to you, what you aspire to.
  2. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. That’s where your greatest learnings happen.
  3. It’s not selfish to advocate for your development. You will be better for it and so will Rocket Software.
