Fujifilm Speciality Ink Systems transformed their warehouse operations by improving productivity, reducing support calls, and enhancing employee satisfaction using Rocket solutions. Here’s how Rocket Modern Experience (formerly Rocket LegaSuite Web) and Rocket API helped.
Industry: Industrial & Manufacturing
Fujifilm Speciality Ink Systems (FSIS) is a global leader in developing innovative ink solutions for printing across diverse formats including inkjet, textile, and packaging. Their UV inkjet inks power class-leading systems distributed worldwide. Committed to continuous improvement, FSIS prioritizes operational innovation to uphold their industry leadership.
Fujifilm faced stagnant productivity and growing frustration in their warehouse operations due to outdated systems, limited UI functionality, and inconsistent WiFi connectivity.
Fujifilm’s 17 warehouse forklift operators, responsible for receiving, picking, and shipping tasks, were struggling with outdated terminal emulators that relied on menu-based interfaces requiring constant manual keyboard inputs. These inefficient systems, combined with intermittent WiFi connectivity that caused frequent session disruptions, significantly slowed down operations and frustrated employees. Additionally, the limited hardware capabilities further impacted usability, prompting Fujifilm to address these key challenges: an outdated user interface, unreliable WiFi connectivity, and inadequate hardware performance.
Fujifilm partnered with Rocket Software to deploy Rocket Modern Experience and Rocket API, modernizing their system for greater efficiency and user satisfaction.
Fujifilm prioritized addressing connectivity challenges by implementing Rocket Modern Experience's persistent session management, which maintained connections during WiFi disruptions to ensure uninterrupted warehouse productivity. They also replaced outdated hardware with modern Windows-based touch screen devices and collaborated with Rocket to redesign their system interface. The new intuitive, touch-friendly UI streamlined workflows and reduced reliance on keyboards, allowing operators to manage tasks more efficiently. The solution was quickly deployed, starting with a prototype forklift for testing before a full rollout based on employee feedback.
Fujifilm’s warehouse underwent a transformation and achieved impressive gains in productivity, employee satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
With the implementation of the new system, support call volume dropped by 90%. And the significantly reduced connectivity-related issues freed up IT resources and improvedthe operator experience. Productivity also saw a 15% increase, as tasks like the annual warehouse inventory count, which previously required seven hours, were completed in just under six hours. Additionally, employee satisfaction and retention improved, with operators embracing the user-friendly interface and touch-optimized screens that made daily tasks simpler and reduced frustration.
