Every great idea starts with a spark, and at Rocket Software, that spark becomes a movement during Rocket.Build, our annual global innovation event. What began in 2014 as a small internal hackathon has evolved into a thriving, worldwide community of innovators, including Rocketeers, customers, partners, and students, all united by a shared goal: to build solutions that improve the world we share.
Rocket.Build embodies the best of who we are as a company. It’s where curiosity and collaboration come together, bringing our values – empathy, humanity, trust, and love – to life through teamwork and creative problem-solving. Each year’s challenges push participants to explore the future of technology, from automation and AI to cross-product integration and the future of work.
More than a competition, Rocket.Build is a catalyst for innovation, giving people time, space, and inspiration to think boldly. Many projects have gone on to become production features or customer solutions, proving that when passionate minds come together with purpose, ideas can create legendary impact.
We’re headed into Finals week, and to celebrate, we’re spotlighting a few of the incredible Rocket.Build participants who exemplify the spirit of innovation at Rocket Software. In this series, they’ll share what drives them to take part, what they’ve learned, and how Rocket.Build continues to inspire bold thinking and lasting impact. So, without further ado, we’d love to introduce Lior Carmon, Senior Solution Enablement Architect at Rocket Software.
The opportunity to bring an idea to life drew me to participate. I come from 25 years in R&D, so it’s in my DNA to innovate and develop something that will deliver value to our customers.
I enjoy getting to create something new that will have an impact and create excitement. When Milan announced Rocket.Build this year, I had a sketch of an idea in my mind of what I wanted to do that connects to my personal life. It’s been exciting bringing it to life.
It’s also been rewarding working with an amazing team with two of my colleagues. Especially since I work remotely, getting to work closer with them as been so rewarding.
Rocket.Build is a great opportunity to learn from others and meet so many teams. I think this year there are 24 total. It’s exciting to see what they did and how we can create more connection with technology such as AI.
I’m also excited to get feedback from the executive leadership team. It will be so helpful to connect with them and learn about the company’s broader direction and how our projects fit into that.
We’ve built a really strong sense of collaboration through this project, and every member brings something unique to the table. I’ve been really proud of how we can support each other and combine our thoughts to maximize the demo we will be presenting.
These projects are a great way to build relationships with other teams and bring our learnings to other departments, like sales, as a showcase of what we can do.
Hopefully, a lot of excitement around our project!
We have had a great time working together as a team, and we plan on bringing that positive energy to Waltham as we all work toward one goal. We want to make people excited about the work we have done and determine how it can have a business impact for the business.
As Lior’s story shows, Rocket.Build is about more than coding – it’s about connection, creativity, and the shared pursuit of progress. Heading into Finals Week, we’re inspired by the passion, collaboration, and bold thinking on display from Rocketeers around the world.
Stay tuned as we continue this series, spotlighting more participants whose ingenuity is helping shape the future of technology one idea at a time.
