Lufthansa Systems unified a fragmented remote access environment spanning 350 airlines onto one standardized platform, cutting complexity and boosting reliability. See how Rocket® ETX™ turned complexity into consistency.
Industry: Information Technology
Lufthansa Systems, a subsidiary of Lufthansa Group, is one of the largest airline IT providers in the industry. Based in Raunheim, Germany, it serves more than 350 airlines worldwide with mission-critical platforms spanning network and flight planning, takeoff, and landing, including the Lido and NetLine portfolio.
Managing multiple remote access tools across its airline platforms left Lufthansa Systems with fragmented infrastructure, putting stability, consistency, and thousands of daily users at risk.
Lufthansa Systems ran multiple remote access solutions simultaneously across its NetLine and Lido platforms, creating fragmentation that affected around 4,000 users across more than 110 airlines. The complexity led to duplicated maintenance, inconsistent user experiences, and limits on innovation. As Olivier Stolz, Executive Director and Head of Global Operations and Services, put it: "These multiple environments to remote access in our applications led to quite some pain in our organization." Unifying the full landscape on a single, reliable platform became an urgent priority.
By standardizing on Rocket ETX, Lufthansa Systems brought NetLine and Lido Flight together on a single, proven platform, transforming a fragmented remote access environment into one unified solution.
Lufthansa Systems standardized its entire remote access environment on ETX™, migrating NetLine off its existing tools and unifying it with Lido Flight on one proven enterprise platform. ETX's flexible architecture supported hybrid setups throughout the migration, keeping the transition smooth at scale, and accelerating the broader shift to cloud. "Working together felt like a partnership from the first moment on. I feel that I'm listened to and my problems are understood," said Stolz.
With Rocket ETX as a unified platform, Lufthansa Systems streamlined operations, lowered costs, and created a faster, more reliable experience for users worldwide.
With Rocket ETX, Lufthansa Systems moved away from siloed environments to a unified, harmonized landscape, reducing operational costs and complexity while enhancing the day-to-day experience for dispatchers and network planners. "With Rocket Software, we were able to break silos, move into one harmonized landscape. This reduced operational costs, complexity, and ultimately improved the user experience," said Stolz. Today, ETX supports thousands of users across hundreds of airlines around the clock, providing lower latency, greater session resilience, and minimal maintenance overhead. These improvements help Lufthansa Systems continue delivering innovative, reliable IT solutions to the aviation industry.
