Newton, MA—September-21-2011—Rocket Software today introduced the newest addition to the Aldon Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solution offering—Aldon Web Portal Plus—a full-featured, easy to navigate web-based portal designed to give IT shops greater access to, and control over, the release management and deployment process.

With its feature-packed engine and Web 2.0 based design, Aldon Web Portal Plus allows users to easily check release status, as well as identify and resolve deployment problems quickly, often with just a click of an icon. It is also delivered with powerful mobile support, so users have the ability to track, manage, and adjust any part of the release processes on an anytime/anywhere basis from most smart phones and tablets.

Working in conjunction with Aldon Lifecycle Manager (IBM i Edition), the web portal can be accessed through any Internet-enabled computer and performs specific functions such as deployment set status checking, deployment target status checking, and point-and-click package rollback and recovery. Users can also configure email notifications with embedded links to Web Portal Plus that will ensure they can immediately respond to changes in release and deployment status. By adding the mobile element, Aldon aims to not just simplify the release management process but to make it easier on the IT staff, who might be checking on deployments well beyond normal business hours.
