Hear from our recent graduates and team members

Before joining NextGen, I knew very little about COBOL or its relevance in today's technology landscape. After completing several weeks of training, I was surprised by how many similarities it shared with modern programming languages, particularly through its newer syntax features. Alongside developing my technical skills, I greatly enjoyed getting to know others in my cohort. Attending social events helped me build strong connections with my peers and fostered a friendly, collaborative environment where I felt comfortable contributing and learning.

Rocket Software's NextGen Academy introduced me to the tools and people which helped build my confidence working with mainframes. Everyone is friendly and always ready to help, contributing to a welcoming environment to work in. Learning from technology experts from across the company prepared me for the various challenges I will encounter in my role as Technical Support.

The most important part of the NextGen Academy for me was the support it gave me on starting my career. Whether it was the cohort I started my journey with, the technical mentors and knowledgeable colleagues in the office, or the boosters from the wider Rocket Software Community, I felt empowered and motivated to contribute to the innovating work that we do.
