With Rocket® Data Replicate and Sync  Rocket Software. offers a solution with a wide range of possible uses for the data integration of a mainframe with the operating systems IBM® z/OS®, z/VSE, VSEn, z/VM, network platforms and database systems under Windows®, UNIX® and Linux® as well as integration with popular and well-known cloud systems.

A connection to data warehouse systems has been part of the Rocket Data Replicate and Sync solution from the very beginning.

Different cloud-based systems are supported by Rocket Data Replicate and Sync, such as Google Cloud BigQuery or Amazon Redshift.

Tasks in the environment of a data warehouse or business intelligence can be solved faster and more scalable, since the user can quickly and easily transfer the - often historically grown and very special mainframe data - to a warehouse and evaluate or analyze them in real time.

The combination of Rocket Data Replicate and Sync and a data warehouse opens up the possibility for companies to quickly and easily integrate data from the IBM Z® mainframe or the distributed environment. The Rocket Data Replicate and Sync change data capture technology ensures that the data warehouse is always supplied with up-to-date data in real time.

The latest addition to a cloud-based data warehouse system is support for Snowflake.

Snowflake is a cloud-based database platform purpose-built to handle data warehouse workloads. It is a solution that is optimized for processing large amounts of data and enables scalable, elastic and high-performance data processing.

Snowflake can be hosted on any of the following cloud platforms:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS®)
  • Microsoft Azure (Azure®)
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Advanced data integration capabilities are offered by Snowflake, including the ability to seamlessly integrate data from disparate sources such as data lakes, cloud storage, or other databases. In addition, the system supports a variety of analysis tools and provides an easy-to-use SQL interface for query execution and data manipulation.

Snowflake has been added to the Rocket Data Replicate and Sync solution as an additional output component and - like any other database - has been transparently integrated into the graphical user interface.

All information required for processing with Snowflake (e.g. account, scheme, warehouse, database and table definitions) are part of the Rocket Data Replicate and Sync repository and are recorded via the standard dialogs for the metadata via the graphical interface.

Both the loading of the Snowflake Warehouse and the processing of change data via journal functions are part of the Snowflake implementation. The processing processes required for this are created via wizard-controlled dialogs.

In addition to a high degree of parallel processing (loads, CDC and queries), the data warehouse technology is characterized by the fact that the administrative effort otherwise associated with a data warehouse is completely eliminated. Thus, Rocket Data Replicate and Sync presents itself as an ideal addition to the integration of data into the Snowflake data warehouse technology for customers who demand a high level of up-to-dateness.

Overall, Rocket Data Replicate and Sync, in conjunction with Snowflake, offers a modern and powerful platform for data analysis and data integration. With the scalable and elastic architecture, it enables companies to efficiently process large amounts of data and make informed decisions based on their data.
