Non-Admin ActiveX Control Feature - File Locations

BlueZone WTH version 6.1.1 or Higher

The purpose of this Tech Tip is to document the file locations when using the new Non-Admin ActiveX Control Feature, also known as the Per-User ActiveX Control Feature.

Requirements: The Non-Admin ActiveX Control Feature requires Windows Vista or higher and Internet Explorer 8 or higher.

Overview

Starting with version 6.1, BlueZone Web-to-Host takes full advantage of Microsoft's new Non-Admin ActiveX Control Feature. This feature allows a Standard Windows user to be able to download and install the BlueZone Web-to-Host Control Module (WTHCM), which is an ActiveX Control, provided that they are using Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 and also that they are using Internet Explorer version 8 or higher.

In previous versions of BlueZone, Standard Windows Users could not install the BlueZone WTHCM. Installation of the BlueZone WTHCM could only be accomplished if the user was an Administrator, or if an Administrator temporarily logged onto the user's machine and installed the WTHCM, or if the BlueZone WTHCM was distributed to the user community via a "push" technology like Microsoft SMS.
