Challenge

Pernod Ricard struggled with outdated, server-based IT infrastructure that couldn't keep up with modern demands. The organization required an agile, web-based solution.

With evolving digital needs and a growing workforce, Pernod Ricard needed a modern platform to streamline operations, prevent skills gaps, and monitor remotely in real time. They were also seeking standardize data collection across brands to maintain their competitive edge. 

Solution

Rocket Software and Pernod Ricard teamed up to modernize an existing internal application into a web- and mobile-based scalable platform: Spirit/1.

The Spirit/1 platform project simplified and improved ERP systems for Pernod Ricard by reducing a 2,500-page ERP and streamlining components from 4,000 to 2,200. A standardized data platform was created to ensure consistency across brands while allowing flexibility for individual needs. The team collaborated closely with Pernod Ricard’s developers to rebuild and rewrite the software framework. And, with the work complete within the scheduled three years, the Spirit/1 platform met the company’s timeline and set a strong foundation for growth. 

Results

The transformation delivered powerful results, showcasing the adaptability and scalability of Rocket Uniface technology.

Optimizing the platform's build cut 60% of its 1.3 million lines of code and drastically reduced development time. Automation tools streamlined processes and boosted efficiency: Cognac QA now saves two days per month and barrel operations have doubled productivity. Team management has also improved with a revamped ERP that requires only three experts to maintain. The deployment of Spirit/1 modernized operations, set new standards, and helped Pernod Ricard attract top talent, onboarding 180 new employees.
