Challenge

Modernizing decades of mission-critical documents from Hastings’ mainframe while ensuring security, compliance, and minimal business impact. 

For over 30 years, Hastings Mutual relied on a proprietary policy administration system (PAS) supported by earlier versions of Mobius Content Services to manage critical documents like regulatory records, accounting files, and workflows. However, the system was incompatible with modern cloud technologies, creating operational risks. Migrating these documents while maintaining user access was challenging, especially with limited IT resources and thousands of unorganized files in a single logical partition (LPAR). 

Solution

Through collaboration with Rocket Professional Services and the use of Mobius solutions, Hastings successfully modernized its infrastructure without interruptions. 

Through its partnership with Rocket Software, Hastings Mutual benefited from expert support provided by Rocket’s Professional Services team. The collaboration focused on key improvements, including simplifying the storage structure by thoroughly classifying and renaming documents. Historical content was safely migrated from LPAR to open-source systems, offering a more modern and efficient setup. Additionally, the implementation of Mobius View, a web-based tool, enabled instant digital accessibility to documents, enhancing overall efficiency.
