Efficient use of media

Reduce the overall backup window

Rocket® Virtual Data Recovery (VDR) creates stacked copies of backups on high-density media, minimizing vaulted media and handling costs. Backups remain in a non-proprietary format, allowing direct recovery without maintaining virtual tape libraries at disaster recovery sites.

Reduce waste, save space, and simplify storage management.

Shorten backup time with efficient virtual tape storage.

Restore backups directly to DASD in a single step, saving recovery time.

Recycle underutilized tapes without returning them to the data center.

your data within reach

Understand data availability

With VDR, virtual tape users can maintain dual copies of critical data sets. This approach guarantees quick restoration when access to primary data is lost, all while keeping your operations running smoothly.

Create dual copies of critical data for extra security.

Store data across both virtual and non-virtual devices.

Restore data instantly without modifying production JCL.

Ensure quick restore process with no data movement.

optimized BACKUP STORAGE

Meet recovery priorities by co-locating stacked data

Optimize backup storage by stacking expiring data sets together on VDR tapes. Media returned from the vault, along with application-specific backups, is grouped to meet recovery priorities.

Group data sets with similar expiration dates.

Organize returned media with application-specific backups.

Keep backup storage structured and recovery-ready.
