Lovin' Spoonfuls, con sede a Boston, consegna il premio Leadership al CEO di Rocket Software Andy Youniss.

BOSTON (November 6, 2017) – Lovin’ Spoonfuls, a non-profit organization that supports local, immediate and responsible food rescue in the Boston area, has presented Rocket Software President and CEO Andy Youniss with its annual Thomas M. Menino Award for Leadership. The award recognizes leaders who demonstrate commitment to ideals that connect service, community, and food. Lovin’ Spoonfuls selected Youniss due to his significant philanthropic and fund-raising efforts on behalf of the organization, with has allowed it to grow into new communities and reach more food-insecure individuals each week.

Lovin’ Spoonfuls, which gathers unused items from local grocery stores, produce wholesalers, farms and farmers’ markets and distributes food to community non-profits that feed Greater Boston’s hungry, has rescued more than seven million pounds of food to date and reaches more than 35,000 people each week.

“We are delighted to present our annual leadership award to board member Andy Youniss,” said Ashley Stanley, Founder/Executive Director at Lovin’ Spoonfuls. “Andy has played a pivotal role at Lovin’ Spoonfuls, helping to expand our food rescue program and maximize its reach. His unwavering commitment to local philanthropy—at Lovin’ Spoonfuls and beyond—has been an inspiration to us all.”

“When I first heard about Lovin’ Spoonfuls, the concept just made sense to me on so many levels,” said Youniss. “The organization is extremely effective at bridging the gap between organizations with an abundance of food on one hand, and those in need of food on the other. But the humanity and empathy of the organization is what really resonates with me. At Lovin’ Spoonfuls, everyone makes their work personal and cares about making our city, our community, and our world a better place. It is infectious, and you can’t help but want to support them.”
