Our unique, enduring partnership with IBM
Helping power the world's critical infrastructure
On April 4, 1994 we announced our first formal business arrangement with IBM®. What began as a licensing agreement for Rocket® QMF tools has led to a 22-year partnership that’s unique in the enterprise software industry.
Over the years, we’ve worked with IBM to develop new, innovative products and services for mainframe customers, and many of our top developers and executives are former IBMers. IBM has even trusted Rocket to take ownership of products such as the UniVerse and UniData® application database management systems, which power many of the world’s retail, healthcare, and transportation applications.
You’ll often find Rocketeers working alongside IBM developers in their offices (and vice versa), as well as presenting alongside IBMers at events such as SHARE and IBM’s own InterConnect, Insight, and Edge events. Rocketeers frequently blog on IBM’s Smarter Planet and Destination z websites. And you’ll see Rocketeers partnering with IBMers to develop tools like Rocket Mainframe Data Service for IBM Bluemix, giving a wider range of developers the tools that make it easy to use mainframe data to build new cloud and mobile apps.
