Press Release

Waltham, MA — Rocket Software (www.rocketsoftware.com) today announced that Database Trends and Applications has named Rocket to the DBTA 100 list of companies in the data sector for the second year in a row. The full list of companies can be found on the DBTA 100 web site.

“Once again, one of the foremost sources of information and insight on the data industry has recognized the value of our products in helping IT executives confront the new challenges and demands that the explosion of data is placing on their teams,” said Andy Youniss, CEO of Rocket Software. “At the same time, there are also tremendous opportunities for those companies that work with the right tools in order to manage and harness the available data.”

In his “View from the Top” article published by DBTA, Rocket Software Senior Vice President P. Gary Gregory wrote about the importance of MultiValue database solutions in enabling companies to ensure that their data remains up-to-date and accessible in formats that serve their custom needs. “Technology advances and regulatory pressures drive IT organizations to continuously evolve their applications. They need tools that increase development productivity, turn volumes of data into information, and simplify management of complex infrastructure. Rocket provides solutions to these challenges, modifying existing Rocket products to become MultiValue-aware.”

According to DBTA, “Data management challenges and opportunities have intensified over the past year. Big data continues to impact organizations as they seek to extract value from the large quantities of data flowing in from traditional and newer sources [such as] social media sites, blogs, sensors, meters, and transactional systems, to name just a few. Separately, although related, massive data growth has continued to put pressure on IT resources and budgets.”
