Multiple MultiValue Alpha and Beta Opportunities 2nd Half of 2021

Rocket Software is hosting three programs:

  1. Rocket MV beta for UniVerse 12.2.1
  2. Rocket MV beta for U2 Toolkit for .NET 2.2.3
  3. Rocket MV alpha for D3 10.4.0

By participating, we’ll hear your business needs and suggestions as we develop solutions to help you address your business challenges. These alpha/beta programs are also an opportunity to collaborate with the Rocket MV Application Server development team and fellow alpha/beta participants. Below are some highlights of new functionality you’ll get to try as well as timeline details.


UniVerse 12.2.1 beta

Start timeframe: late September 2021

Duration: 8-10 weeks

Supported platforms: AIX, Linux, and Windows only

A few of the new features being introduced in 12.2.1 and available in the beta:

  • 3rd Mode – turn the System Buffer off so you can run in single-process mode
  • Python v3.9 upgrade including the preservation of your Python environment when upgrading UniVerse
  • OpenSSL v1.1.1 upgrade with support for the new TLS v1.3 protocol
  • Linux 8 certification with support for Linux 8 FIPS
  • UTC Datetime support
  • Geospatial enhancements

U2 Toolkit for .NET 2.2.3 beta

Start timeframe: November 2021

Duration: 4 weeks

Supported platforms: UniVerse and UniData only, Windows 2012+

Beta topics and enhancements include:

  • U2 Toolkit for .NET (UNDK) 2.2.3 will support the latest .NET version, .NET Standard 2.0.
  • Explore the advantages of .NET Standard 2.0 over other versions of .NET
  • 2.2.3 will be a U2 Toolkit for .NET Provider release with Entity Framework (Developer) to follow in 2022
  • Visual Studio 2019 support

D3 10.4 Alpha

Start timeframe: late Q3

Supported platforms: RHEL or CentOS 7.0 only

D3 10.4.0 includes a number of new enhancements:

  • This version brings together the Windows and Unix implementations into one release.
  • D3 Unix implementations now use a multi-threaded architecture
  • Common C++ codebase supported on all implementations should lead to better performance.
