UD225: UniData Recoverable File

Purpose
This course provides information on how to manage the Recoverable File System (RFS) portions of a UniData database system. Learn how to install and configure this additional component of UniData. Understand all the necessary pieces and how to maintain them on a daily basis. Be able to use the software to recover from a system or media failure with minimal interruption in service. Become familiar with the tools that allow you to monitor RFS system performance. Learning is enhanced by hands-on labs.
Audience
This course is designed for UniData database and system administrators who are using or plan to use UniData’s Recoverable File System (RFS).
Prerequisites
In order to attend this course you must have the following skills or completed the following courses:
- UniData Administration (UD200) or equivalent knowledge
- Basic understanding of the UNIX or Windows operating system
Objectives
After completing this course, you should be able to:
- Define what RFS (Recoverable File System) is
- List the major components of RFS
- Install RFS or set it up on an existing UniData system
- Identify key operational concerns for RFS
- Properly Back-up recoverable files
- Explain and perform system recovery steps
- Explain and perform media recovery steps
