System Requirements

U2 Web Development Environment (U2 Web DE) is currently at release V5.0 and is comprised of the following:

U2 Web DE Server enables the following mid-tier clients to access RedBack Objects (RBOs):

Java technology, J2EE (JSP, servlets and EJB), applets, Java applications and PDAs

U2 Web DE Server resides on the same server as UniData or UniVerse and requires the following minimum versions:

UniData V7.2
UniVerse V10.3

U2 Web Designer is an Eclipse-based tool which provides a complete environment to create and maintain RBOs, maintain your Web DE environment and enable or update existing U2 systems and processes. The designer is certified for the following minimum platform levels:

Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, 7

Web server software recommendations:
Web server for .NET Applications (RedPages.NET)

Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.x or later
Common language runtime and class libraries
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or later

Web server for Java applications (RedBeans)

Tomcat 6.x or later
Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
- JRE 1.5 or later
