Rocket PASSPORT VT/100 telnet client is extremely cost effective. We provide a subscription based licensing program that can reduce your telnet software acquisition cost and maintenance cost significantly. Host Connection Support
Rocket PASSPORT supports the telnet host access features defined in the IETF Telnet specifications, DEC VT52, DEC VT100, VT220 and VT420 Programmer's Reference manuals. Telnet terminal emulation uses the TCP/IP Internet protocol for communication between a telnet client and a telnet server. Rocket PASSPORT is compatible with all DEC and UNIX® hosts that adhere to these specifications. Both 7-bit and 8-bit VT emulation are supported.
Rocket PASSPORT provides a method to specify the text string used for the Telnet device type. Rocket PASSPORT uses the standard telnet device types "VT52", "VT100", "VT220" and "VT420". However, some VT hosts may require a non-standard telnet device type such as "DEC-VT220". Auto-reconnect is a configurable option that can automatically re-establish the emulator session after a telnet logoff is performed. Hot back up for connection to alternate IP host names is also provided.

The Return Key may be set to CR (Carriage Return) or CRLF (a combination of Carriage Return and Line Feed.)
Answer Back Message
This option is used to establish a question and answer sequence between the host and the client. This message is limited to 20 characters. The answerback message is typically used to identify the terminal to the host by sending a message to the host automatically, without operator action. Hexadecimal is represented by the tilde and hex number. (An hexadecimal example is ~0D for hex 13, which represents the 13th ASCII character sequence.)
This option echoes back each character typed; for instance, when p3 is typed, pp33 is displayed back because the host will also send back the p and the 3.
The Wrap around option permits typing beyond the 80-character limitation (on an 80 character-wide screen) by wrapping the continued line on to the next line.
Line Transmit Mode
This option sends an entire line. Compare this to the normal character transmit mode, where each character is sent on a character-by-character basis.
Reverse Screen image
This option reverses the background and foreground colors. For instance, the customary black background with green letters becomes a green background with black letters.
Determines the speed at which lines will scroll on the emulation screen (from 1 to 100; default is 5). When this option is disabled, lines of data will scroll as fast as they are received from the host.
Rocket PASSPORT provides pass-through printing for VT/100 sessions. Rocket PASSPORT can be configured to bypass the Windows printer driver to send print jobs directly to the printer without interpretation by the Windows printer driver. This removes the form feed sent by the driver at the end of print jobs.
Rocket PASSPORT can also be configured to disable printer translation. With printer translation disabled, character translation is prevented and characters are printed exactly as they are delivered by the host. No character set translation is made from the host code page to the PC code page.
