System Requirements
Two installer options are provided with NetCure: full install or client-only install. The minimum recommended hardware and software requirements for each are described below. Note that the requirements for full install are guidelines only since actual requirements vary greatly depending on the size of your network or networks, and the management policies to be applied. For system requirements tailored to your network size and management, please contact a Rocket sales representative or your local NetCure reseller.
NetCure supports full platform interoperability such that any NetCure process running on any platform can connect to any other NetCure process running on any other platform provided the version numbers of the components match.
For Windows
Full Install:
- Operating System: Windows 2000, XP, or 2003
- RAM: 1 GB available (minimum). This is sufficient for discovering up to 10,000 devices. Add an extra 1GB of RAM for every 10,000 additional devices.
- Disk Space: 1 GB free (greatly varies with amount of historical data maintained)
- Processor: Pentium 4 or equivalent, 1GHz (minimum)
- Network Access Speed: 10 Mbit (minimum)
- Network Protocols: TCP/IP
- Display Requirements: Either SVGA monitor; 256 colors or greater, or NetCure client installation elsewhere on network
Client Install:
- Operating System: Windows 2000, XP, or 2003
- RAM: 250MB
- Disk Space: 300 MB free
- Processor: Pentium 3 or equivalent, 500MHz
- Network Access Speed: LAN, T1, DSL, or cable modem
- Network Protocols: TCP/IP
- Display Requirements: SVGA monitor; 256 colors or greater
- Network access to NetCure server host
For Linux
Full Install:
- Operating System: SuSE 8+ or Red Hat 9+ (Red Hat Regular and Enterprise Editions - we can not guarantee success with "custom" installs of Linux)
- RAM: 1 GB available (minimum). This is sufficient for discovering up to 10,000 devices. Add an extra 1GB of RAM for every 10,000 additional devices.

- Processor: Ultra Sparc II 500 (Sunblade 100) or better
- Network Access Speed: 10 Mbit (minimum)
- Network Protocols: TCP/IP
- Display Requirements: Either SVGA monitor; 256 colors or greater, or NetCure client installation elsewhere on network
Client Install:
- Operating System: SPARC Solaris 8+
- RAM: 250MB
- Disk Space: 300 MB free
- Processor: Ultra Sparc II 270 (Ultra 5) or better
- Network Access Speed: LAN, T1, DSL, or cable modem
- Network Protocols: TCP/IP
- Display Requirements: SVGA monitor; 256 colors or greater
- Network access to NetCure server host
