Limitations
RocketMyWeb has been developed to work with a diverse collection of web sites and is compatible with virtually all popular Internet destinations. However, Rocket is aware of four limitations, two related to customizing web pages and two related to displaying disparate content on a 'my page'. These limitations are explained in the text below.
Before buying the software, install the free, limited edition to ensure that the software fully meets your requirements.
Working with web sites
- Although somewhat rare, certain web sites embed web pages within other web pages using an entity called an 'IFRAME'. RocketMyWeb allows you to select content on the open web page but not pages that are contained within it. As a result, the embedded web page is considered a single entity — you will not be able to select items within it.
- RocketMyWeb remembers your preferences for a given web site and restores them each time that you return to it. However, in some cases, subsequent visits to the same web site are handled by significantly differing Internet addresses (URLs). For example, a visit to abcmail.com may be served by 123.abcmail.com one day but by 456.abcmail.com on another day. When this happens, preferences stored against 123.abcmail.com will not be applied when visiting 456.abcmail.com.
Working with 'My Pages'
- Some web sites are coded to appear in a full browser window under all circumstances. This mechanism prevents them from being embedded within another web site. This also prevents RocketMyWeb from displaying content from such a web site on a 'My Page'. If you attempt to do this, your 'My Page' will automatically navigate to the web site from which the content was drawn.
- Some web sites store your preferences in cookies. This information is not available to content drawn from such sites when running on a 'My Page'. As a result, you may find that certain clipped content does not reflect your web site preferences when displayed on a 'My Page'. Displaying the web site in a customized, view mode is unaffected.
