Rocket Catalant Integration with Tivoli Netcool

The Rocket Catalant software, a powerful NMS framework used by most leading major Telecom manufacturers, now supports integration with the Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus solution. This integration permits any NMS built using the Rocket Catalant framework to expose seamlessly and in real time its alarms to the Netcool console, thus providing a very easy and effective way to integrate monitoring of the network domains managed by Rocket Catalant platform inside the Netcool/OMNIbus enterprise monitoring application.

This integration is based on the SNMP Northbound interface provided by the Rocket Catalant platform and the SNMP Trap probe of the Netcool/OMNIbus. Appropriate rules files are generated automatically based on the Rocket Catalant site configuration. This feature is available with Rocket Catalant version 3.3 and greater.

Rocket Catalant Integration with Other Tivoli Components

As part of its commitments to fully integrate Rocket Catalant with the Tivoli suite, Rocket Software team is also working on two future integrations:

  • Integration with the Tivoli Directory Integrator (TDI) : This integration will provide an alternate way of forwarding alarm events to the Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus as well as exposing events to the TEC (Tivoli Event Console).
  • Integration with the Tivoli Network Manager (TNM) : This integration will provide in addition to alarms, a way to view Toplogy information managed by the Rocket Catalant directly inside the Netcool/OMNIbus user interface.
