Free Perl Script: lsdasdfs

Overview

Lists the Filesystems Associated With All Attached DASD Devices

This is a PERL script for use within a Linux system running on a zSeries mainframe under the z/VM operating system. It will tell you which DASD devices your Linux filesystems reside on. This just correlates some kernel data so that you can tell which filesystems have to be unmounted before a device is varied offline.

The output lists each DASD device, one per line, by its z/VM virtual device number, type, and Linux device name, along with the mount-point of the filesystem on it. For filesystems implemented under Logical Volume Management (LVM), it lists the mount-points of each logical volume that could be within the physical volume represented by that DASD. It cleverly reports swap as just “swap”.
