Rocket Software Listed in Gartner’s Data Virtualization (DV) Market Guide

13 September, 2016
Press Release

Waltham, MA – September 13 – Rocket Software, Inc. (www.rocketsoftware.com) today announced that analyst firm Gartner has included the company in its July 2016 Market Guide for Data Virtualization. The comprehensive guide explores the expanding market for data virtualization and provides insight into 16 vendors and their offerings.

Gartner research shows that in late 2011, “only 11% of organizations reported that they were using data virtualization in a focused set of use cases,” and that “By 2020, 35% of enterprises will implement some form of data virtualization as one enterprise production option for data integration.” Rocket Software feels this represents a major shift in the importance of data virtualization, which is rapidly becoming the technology of choice for organizations that process large amounts of data in real time.

Rocket® Data Virtualization (DV) makes mainframe data available in real-time, which is ideal for applications such as credit card processing, insurance claims, and other applications that perform thousands of transactions per second. The software gives developers who have no mainframe experience the ability to move their applications and analytics closer to their data, eliminating the expense of having to move, replicate, or transform data. With Rocket DV, data from multiple, disconnected sources can be integrated into a single, logical, data source, which can then be shared with any application, to provide the right data, in the right format, at the right time.

“Data virtualization is no longer a luxury – when ETL isn’t fast enough, data virtualization is the right choice for any organization that needs to manage large amounts of transactional data and make instantaneous decisions,” says Andy Youniss, President and CEO of Rocket Software. “The Gartner report recognizes the importance of this technology, and we are honored to be listed as a Representative Vendor in this growing market.”
