Rocket Software Enters License Agreement with EMC
Newton, Mass. – December 9, 2009 – Rocket Software (www.rocketsoftware.com), a global developer of enterprise infrastructure products, today announced that it has entered into a long-term exclusive licensing agreement with EMC for six EMC mainframe data management software products.
As part of the agreement, EMC has transferred to Rocket all service, support and R&D obligations and activities associated with the following six software products: Performance Essential, Catalog Solution, VSAM Assist, TeraSAM, VSAM Quick Index and Capacity Plus for VSAM.
EMC and Rocket Software also signed a Cooperative Support Agreement to assure that customers of these products continue to benefit from the highest levels of support. EMC will work closely to support Rocket on any service issues with their customers moving forward.
The products will be offered to customers as part of Rocket’s storage products group, which currently includes Mainstar, Servergraph, Arkivio and other brands and products
According to Rocket CEO Andy Youniss, “This is an important step for Rocket. Rocket has a significant portfolio of storage software products, and is a longstanding EMC partner across the company’s Information Storage and RSA Information Security divisions. We look forward to providing high levels of service, new features, and current platform support to EMC customers on System z.”
