What are you announcing today?
Rocket Software Inc. has acquired the assets of Arkivio, Inc.

When did Rocket close this deal?
The asset purchase was completed on December 31, 2007

Why did Rocket acquire the assets of Arkivio?
Arkivio has award-winning world-class technology that will add depth and breadth to Rocket’s storage business.

Will the Arkivio brand/name continue?
Yes. Assets acquired by Rocket include the Arkivio brand and name, as well as the www.arkivio.com Web address and the Arkivio logo. Rocket will continue to use the Arkivio name in the market place.

Will Rocket continue to develop and support Arkivio products?
Yes, development and support will continue with staff from the current Arkivio location in Mountain View, California and additional staff from Rocket Software. As a result, customers and partners can expect excellent ongoing service and support from Rocket for the Arkivio products.

Do any customer licenses need to be re-written?
Rocket will work with customers to assign the terms and conditions associated with existing license or maintenance agreements properly.

Will Arkivio maintenance prices be raised?
No. Rocket has no current plans to change pricing of any of the Arkivio products, services, or maintenance offerings.

What will happen to the Arkivio sales channel?
Giovanni Paliska (giovanni.paliska@rs.com), CEO of Arkivio, will become the General Manager of the Arkivio business within Rocket and will focus on the core OEM business. Don Becker (don.becker@rs.com), General Manager of Rocket’s Servergraph business, will manage the direct sales of Arkivio products to enterprise customers. Giovanni and Don will work closely together to make sure our customers are completely satisfied with Arkivio products and services.
