Netcure Filtering Options
Keep distractions at bay and focus on real problems. With NetCure, every type of event passes through several types of configurable filtering before being posted.
- Threshold events only post when a threshold is crossed. Different thresholds are defined for trigger and clear to build hysteresis into event reporting
- Repetition filtering is standard for all event types. A thousand repetitions of the same event on the same device are shown to the operator as only one event with a 1000 repetitions
- Rate filtering can be configured such that an event is posted only if a condition occurs a number of times in a set period of time. For example, five login failures within one minute
- Transiency filtering can be set to withhold events until the condition is true for a period of time in which case the event is never posted if the condition is true for only a short while. This can server to filter out events caused by momentary spikes
- Events can be entirely suppressed by type or set to unconditionally clear after some period of time
- All types of filtering can be configured and tuned globally, or via scoped overrides that only apply to specific subsets of network or application elements
