Mainstar VSAM Manager
Rocket Mainstar VSAM Manager provides in-depth reporting on VSAM KSDS data sets to analyze logical record to CI relationships to check for potential efficiency problems, requested and achieved distributed FREESPACE within CIs and CAs, and DASD space utilization of the data set. It also provides information that identifies where record insertion activity is occurring within the file to show where CA splits have happened and how many are at each location. This information helps you to gain insight to better determine when a VSAM KSDS needs to be reorganized and ways to improve overall data set performance.
