MXI can be extended through a suite of plug-ins which allows you to quickly and easily view activity in IBM® DB2®, IBM® WebSphere MQ,™ and IBM® CICS™.
MXI for z/OS can display a wealth of information from your system including:
- Vital system data sets and load modules
- Active address spaces
- Allocated data sets for any address space

Enhanced Interfaces
The enhanced ISPF interface supports widescreen formats. Some MXI displays are hundreds of bytes wide and can be easily filtered, scrolled, and sorted. Columns can be fixed or arranged according to your specifications and line commands and over-typeable fields are now available on most displays.
In addition, the REXX API interface in MXI enables you to address column data directly using ‘row.column.i’ stem variable names. MXI also provides a TCP/IP server application that enables you to issue commands to remote systems and view the results on the local system seamlessly.
MXI extends its functionality even further than any of its previous releases by offering a Java-based Consolidation and Analysis Engine and Client (CAE) that you use to:
- Perform in-depth analysis of MXI command results
- Find changes in MXI data over time
- View and analyze historical system behavior
- Integrate an autonomic event and response system
The MXI CAE features web-based access to MXI messages, commands, and monitoring and enables you to:
- View and manage message boards and important messages about your systems
- Create, edit, and view graphical displays of current and historical system information
- Issue MXI commands against your systems
- Collects and caches data and automates site-defined thresholds and actions
- Manage authentications to mainframes
