Rocket Mainstar HSM Reporter/Manager puts commonly needed system information at your fingertips, allowing technical staff to quickly and easily monitor and correct problem areas. HSM Reporter/Manager is a comprehensive, open-ended system that you can use to create customized displays and fault correction.
In addition, HSM Reporter/Manager enables you to administer, tune, and report on IBM® DFSMShsm™ and activities from within the product.
- Administer – Reorg, move, enlarge and rename Control Data Sets (CDS) while the DFSMShsm task is active.
- Tune – Know the cost for successful and unsuccessful DFSMShsm scheduling and requested work and know what DFSMShsm scheduled work completed - and what was not completed - in the allocated windows.
- Report – Know the location of and status of your
DFSMShsm managed data.
Use Mainstar HSM Reporter/Manager to estimate costs for successful and unsuccessful scheduled and requested HSM work and to view accurate daily and historical information. Details in the health reports allow your storage administrators to know what scheduled DFSMShsm work was completed and what was not completed. Scheduled work can include:
- Primary, secondary, and interval migration
- Incremental, daily, and volume DFSMShsm backups
- Volume occupancy errors encountered during the scheduled work period
