We offer the following Rocket AS training courses on demand:

Course Fees

For all your Rocket AS education requirements, whether for standard or customized courses, quotes are provided on request based on your preferences and requirements. Course fees cover all materials needed for the training. Course materials can be made available free of charge to all valid Rocket AS customers for their own use. Courses currently available in PDF format include: AS1, AS2 and AS3.

All charges are subject to VAT and/or local taxes at the ruling rate.

Public vs. Organizational Training

Rocket AS education courses are offered as public courses or courses for a single organization.

Publice Courses

Public courses are scheduled on demand and are held at our Training Center in Warwick, UK. The public course fee covers all course materials, lunch and refreshments throughout the day.

Courses for a Single Organization

Organization courses can take place at our Warwick, UK training center or on your site. A quotation will be provided upon request based on your requirements. Expenses are only charged if the course is held at your site (these include accommodation and travel costs/time).

Several key benefits of organization-level course training include:

  • The ability to adjust the pace of courses to suite your organization's needs and knowledge level.
  • Customized courses can be built using selected modules from standard courses or by developing new modules to satisfy specialized requirements.

Objectives:

To provide new users with a simple, free introduction to AS in a PDF file which can be viewed or printed.

Target Users:

Anyone who will be using AS as an end-user or as a programmer.

Duration:

1-2 hours

An overview of the following Rocket AS concepts are presented in 56 slides in PDF format:

Using the Facilities of AS (AS1)

Objectives:

To provide all types of user with the skills to use the principal elements of ASTRAC AS using the menus and windows (i.e. the 'point-and-select' interface) rather than commands. This course enables the student to access and analyse data, presenting the output as reports and charts and to define desktops to store work.

Target User:

Anyone who will be using ASTRAC AS as an end-user or needs an introduction to AS.

Duration:

3 days

Objectives:

To enable users to use commands and write procedures to process data using ASTRAC AS. This course is designed to provide the necessary skills to create simple applications and data entry panels.

Target User:

Users with a basic knowledge of AS or application developers. This course follows on from the Using the Facilities of AS (AS1) course for users who need to learn the AS language (although AS1 is not necessarily a pre-requisite for this course - see below).

Duration:

3 days (or 2 days by special request).

Pre-requisites:

One of the following:

  1. Using the Facilities of AS (AS1)
  2. A basic knowledge of database and query software
  3. Introduction to AS (a small PDF file)

Objectives:

To cover the advanced features of ASTRAC AS that are required in the development of departmental applications and management of executive information systems. This course extends the user's skills in the areas of procedures, reports, data manipulation, screen handling and application development techniques.

Target User:

Experienced AS users and IT staff wishing to use AS for application development. This course follows on from the Intermediate Use of AS (AS2) course.

Duration

4 days - the last day includes a workshop in which the attendee develops a mini-application based on a case study.

Pre-requisites:

Attendance on the Intermediate Use of AS (AS2) course plus practical experience of applying the techniques covered.
